Lake Como is a pre-Alpine natural lake that has an ancient history, archaeological evidence found in artifacts dating back to the Paleolithic and other Roman era . Today it is preserved as a cultural and artistic heritage and has been called the most beautiful lake in the world by the newspaper "The Huffington Post". On its banks it has numerous prestigious villas including Villa Balbianello . This in particular is protected by the Italian Environment Fund (FAI) and is located on the Lavedo Peninsula, a promontory also called "Balbianello" par excellence. The villa dates back to 1787 and since then has hosted great intellectuals such as Giovanni Berchet, Giuseppe Giusti and Alessandro Manzoni. In the nineties, has been chosen as a film location and has become famous with A Month by the Lake of John Irvin (1995), Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones George Lucas (2002) and Casino Royale Martin Campbell (2006 ). will be open to the public from Saturday, March 12 10-18 h every day (except Mondays and Wednesdays except holidays).

The Italian population decline

Italy is often referred to as an old country and according to the ISTAT estimates has approximately 1/5 of the population older than 65 years out of a total of inhabitants 60mlni. However, contrary to appearances, for the population ranks fourth in Europe with a population density higher than average. The explanation is quickly made and is in the increasing flow of migrants. The share of the population "acquired" keeps up the total population despite the sharp drop in births (less than even the dead). In this regard the forecasts indicate a significant decline in population over the next 20/40 years.

Poetry Who leaves us Rime Narrative

 Au revoir hot sun
in the light to disappear.
Au revoir to the seas and the mountains
deep to sink,
the colorful flowers to bloom,
to love to love,
the good children to grow,
a day to set,
Earth to orbit.
Au revoir my Italian,
now it's late,
I have to go.
