The "Bal au Moulin de la Galette" is a painting made in 1876 by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Its name indicates the local represented. This was a special place, because it was set up in an old mill. He had a popular attendance and was suitable for outdoor dancing. He was at the top of the hill of Montmartre, in the artists' quarter. It was typical also for aperitifs, the known "galettes" sweets, offered to visitors. The work, oil on canvas, is a lighthearted moment with some dancing figures and others at the tables conversing. The whole is characterized by the Impressionist dynamism in bright colors. The special feature is the absence of a main subject.
Poetry back home
In the night now indifferent
trip, seeking rest,
I see the round moon in the sky,
I see brush up in the evening.
It seems to me that among the whispers rays
of restaurants, appetizers and desserts,
of my four kisses escaped
the welcoming words of you.
And in the memory, refreshes
the fiery summer
of an awakening thrill.
It is the love that awaits
and seeks among stars
the grip of dreams.
